Move-in Checklist

We're always excited to welcome new tenants to the Moon Ridge family. Start your stay off on the right foot by reading through the information below.


Month's Rent & Security Deposit

Your first month's rent check, security deposit, and any other fees must be paid at the lease signing.


Move-in Date & Inspection

We will schedule your move-in and conduct an initial inspection to document the condition of your property. Review the inspection form here.



Please quickly put the utility accounts for your new home in your name. Failure to promptly do this may result in temporary outages and additional administrative fees.


Move-out Checklist

We wish you the best as you prepare for your new adventure. End your tenancy the right way by following the steps outlined below.


Notice of Intent to Vacate

We ask all tenants to provide us with written notice of intent to vacate the premises of their rental homes. Please check the terms in your lease to determine the legally agreed upon move-out date.


Property Condition

All homes must be returned to us in good condition. This includes:

Rental Cleaning: Your property should be thoroughly cleaned, with floors and walls wiped down and bathrooms properly sanitized. You also need to remove all personal belongings.

Landscaping & Outdoor Areas: If you have outdoor space where you regularly address landscaping needs, take care of these once more before vacating the premises.

Repairs: If any damage did occur during your stay, please try to resolve the problem before moving out. Patch nail and screw holes, replace lightbulbs, and repair broken glass.


Security Deposit

After you leave your property, we will perform a final inspection. We'll use the notes in our original inspection form to check for any damage.

If we identify any problems, we will schedule repair visits and deduct the expenses from your security deposit.

The remainder will be returned to you within 45 days, as mandated by Maryland law.
